Longtime ESPN telecaster Ron Franklin and sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards probably won't be sharing the airwaves again anytime soon.
The sports arrangement pulled Franklin from the Jan. 1 Saturday Fiesta Bowl telephone system broadcast with directing a sexist comment by his colleague.
Sports by Brooks reports with the intention of Franklin and Edwards were tied in a production assembly by fellow ESPN announcers Ed Cunningham and bar Gilmore. When the theme of Gilmore's wife being voted as Alameda, CA mayor was brought up, things got unsightly.
Edwards, the nominal female of the assemble, chimed in to the conversation and Franklin replied in kind with: "Why don't you leave this to the boys, sweetcakes."
